Book Companion for Bear Stays Up For Christmas by Karma Wilson and Jane Chapman
You will need to purchase the book separately.
This 54 page activity pack is perfect for language therapy. The activities included are perfect for speech and language intervention, literacy circles and whole group activities.
Included in this pack:
Character Cards: (pages 4-6) Use while telling the story.
Links to the Story: (page 7) Have your students cut out the strips and place them into sequential order while retelling the story. Then, glue them together to form a story chain.
Sequencing: (pages 8-11) Have your students cut out the pictures on page 8,10 and glue them in sequential order onto page 7,9. Print, cut, laminate and add Velcro for repeated use. (Color and BW)
Story Elements Flip Book: (pages 12-14)
Comprehension Questions: (pages 15-18) (21 cards)
Comprehension Questions Mini Book: (page 19)
Context Clues Vocabulary Puzzles: (pages 20-23) Place the puzzle pieces mixed up on the table and have your students match the pieces.
New Vocabulary Worksheet: (page 24-25) Cut out the words at the bottom of the page. Glue each word beside the correct definition.
Vocabulary Lift & Learn: (pages 26-28) This can be used two different ways. For both activities you will need to glue the title portion of the page onto another sheet of paper. 1.) Have your student(s) write a definition under each word. 2.) Have your student(s) write a sentence using the target word under the appropriate flap.
Regular/Irregular Verb Spins: (pages 29-30) Use a pencil and a paper clip to make the spinner. After flicking the paper clip, record the verb onto the chart on the left and provide the other tenses of the verb.
Rhyming Match-up: (pages 31-34) These cards can be used to play a matching game or Go Fish. (24 cards)
Cut & Paste Synonym/Antonym Worksheets: (pages 35-36) Your student(s) will need to cut out the words at the bottom of the page and glue them next to the word that means the same/opposite.
Plural Noun Cards: (pages 37-38) Have your students match the singular nouns with the plural. Then, have them use the plural noun in a sentence. (12 cards)
Picture Scene with Interactive Pieces: (pages 39-40) Directions on page 40.
Following Directions Coloring Scene: (page 41) Give each student a worksheet. There are directions at the bottom of the page or you can come up with your own. Have students follow the directions by coloring or drawing on the page.
Preposition Cards: (pages 42-45) You will receive 12 fill-in-the-blank cards and 12 preposition picture cards. These cards can be together or separate for a matching game or to review prepositions.
Christmas Tree Articulation: (pages 46-49) /s,r,l/ and create your own.
Open-ended Game board: (page 50) Can be used with many of the activities throughout this packet.
Spin n’ Color Santa: (page 51) Can be used as a reinforcement activity.
