Description
The Battle of the Sexes - Male and Female Reproductive Structures is a fun way to introduce the male and female reproductive organs. In my class, I use this as an engagement tool and start the unit. You can divide students however you would like: boys vs. girls, table wars, students pick their own teams, or completed individually. This activity shows what students already know about the reproductive structures and really shows the students what they may or may not know. I also have found it helps get the "giggles" out early :) I do preface early with my students that only scientific terms are permitted during this unit.
This activity is already set up through the free Google Chrome extension, 'Pear Deck'. This application is similar to NearPod in the sense that students can submit their answers through an electronic device. CLICK HERE TO VISIT THE PEAR DECK WEBSITE FOR MORE INFORMATION ON THE APP. The Battle of the Sexes slides are opened through your Google Drive and you load the Pear Deck extension through the Add-ons tab and run the activity through the Pear Deck app. These slides can be student-led or teacher-led. When teacher-led, the teacher controls when the students can anonymously see what other students selected as their answer.
