This Banana Split Writing Prompt will help. You will be able to walk your students through the writing process with this prompt. This product includes editable, 3-Day lesson plans for kindergarten, first, and second grades.

This is a one week/one topic narrative, sequencing, or how-to writing

Included in this unit are editable lesson plans for kindergarten through 2nd grade with a four-day plan for effectively teaching narrative writing, sequencing writing, or how to writing. I have been using sequencing to help my students learn how to write an excellent paragraph for many years. Many times, when writing , it is hard to come up with a topic, especially for young writers. I have found that using sequencing pictures, and allow the student to write and get their writing on paper.

In addition, you could easily change this to an expository How-To writing simply by changing the word choice.

Included in this unit are large colored pictures for whole group instruction. Colored word wall words, sequencing pictures for students, and a variety of graphic organizer pages to choose from. Included is Large Primary Print and Elementary Lined. In addition, there are graphic organizers with the pictures included, pages without the pictures, and final draft pages. For second grade and possibly late first grade, I have also included a graphic organizer that include a topic and closing sentence.
