Once the Berlin Wall went up on August 13, 1961, East Germans - who had been fleeing to the West by the thousands - were trapped inside their own country.

Many tried to escape.

Some succeeded.

This film - Ballon (Balloon) - recounts the escape by homemade hot air balloon of two families from Communist East Germany in 1979.
