Back to the Present: Research-Predictions & Outcomes of What the Future Might Be
- PDF
Description
As part of a dedicated elective on Science Fiction/Fantasy, students are tasked with engaging with past and current predictions of changes to our society and technology, and how well (or poorly) those predictions turned out.
Students have a wide range of options from which to choose, and then can tailor them further to their own specific areas of interest (with teacher review). They will develop an annotated bibliography with a minimum of six sources and then further create an oral presentation they will deliver to their peers so that their focus and findings are shared.
Once a specific research topic has been approved and/or assigned, a minimum of one month should be allowed for the students to conduct their research, write, and finalize their papers.
