Description

The following 8-page document is a study guide movie packet to guide a viewer's analysis of the 1985 film "Back to the Future" directed by Robert Zemeckis. The study guide can be used for study in an English or film studies class. The first page provides a cast and crew list and a background and introduction to the film. The second page provides a notes page for viewers to write their notes. The third page is a grammar/writing mini-lesson on writing in the literary present with a plot synopsis on the film. The fourth and fifth pages provides comprehension questions that actively challenge viewers to analyze the work's story and style. The fifth and sixth pages provides discussion questions on the work's characterization, conflict, genre, and themes. The seventh page is a review on both conflict (central, external and internal) and character archetypes used in the film. Finally, the eighth page contains screenshots throughout the film and asks viewers to organize them chronologically on a plot diagram to review plot.
