Back to School Digital Poster, Ancient History Test, Archaeology Activity Bundle

These 3 classroom-tested, beginning of the year resources are a great way to start your school year! Each resource is a lesson plan with detailed directions and includes all the materials you need to easily implement them. While intended as back to school lessons, they can be used at other times of the year as well.

One lesson plan teaches students how to create All About Me digital posters, one lesson plan is a pre-test about ancient history (and also includes post-tests for the end of the year), and the third lesson plan is an activity to introduce your students to archaeology by pretending to do a dig in your classroom. The digital poster and archaeology resources are CCSS-aligned.

* In the Who Am I? resource, students create a digital poster about themselves and learn/practice technology skills.

* In the Ancient History Pre-Test & Post-Test resource, students take a quiz to find out what they already know about ancient history.

* In the Archaeology Lesson Plan with Writing Task resource, students do a practice dig in their classroom to as an introduction to the field of archaeology.

★ Who are they for?

English Language Learners as well as all other students. ELLs at lower proficiency levels may need extra support and suggestions on how to do that are provided in the resources.

★ How do they help teachers?

* Detailed instructions in the lesson plans tell you how to implement the digital poster and archaeology activities and administer the pre-test.

* Student materials are ready to use and just need to be photocopied or shared onscreen.

* Challenge handouts in 2 resources keep early finishers occupied or can be used as assignments for the whole class.
