Never used Depth and Complexity icons or frames in your classroom? No problem! None of your students are identified as GATE? Still not a problem! This packet is for all students and detailed directions are included for each page. I’ve used frames and the prompts of Depth and Complexity with all of my students (GATE or not), and they really enjoy it!

+ Matching Icons to Scenarios/School Assignments Game: Students read cards with different scenarios/questions/school assignments they might come across in school. They then have to match the scenario to the proper icon. Answer key included.

+ 2 Depth and Complexity Game Boards (1 in black and white, and 1 in color): Students roll the die and land on different tasks/questions along the way as they learn about their peers. (Dice not included)

+ Two Page “You’re Iconic” questionnaire to get to know your students better (school and family questions included)

+ 2 “My Goals” pages using the icons (1 page offers more room for writing)

+ “We Rule!” Activity: Give your students a rule or procedure from your classroom. Students will work in groups/pairs/independently to fill out the organizer and create their very own unique presentation about their rule/procedure, how it impacts the class, and the steps or process of following the rule or procedure correctly vs incorrectly. Train them right away to save you from headaches!!
