Description
In this back to school digital escape room, students will have decoding and solving riddles, unlocking 5 locks. Use this on the first day of school or first week of school as an ice breaker. There is an emphasis on growth mindset. Students receive basic feedback for correctness, and you can easily monitor student performance on the teacher dashboard. This will help you support student learning via small groups, 1 on 1 support, or whole group.
Directions are provided on a slide and also on a short video in the activity. Super easy to implement and straightforward using Desmos, a free and user-friendly platform. Help your students have fun while engaging in mathematics. Pull students in breakout rooms or small groups to support struggling learners!
The digital survey is intended to help you get to know your students at the beginning of the school year. Perfect for helping your students ease into the first day or first week of school, they will enjoy writing about themselves and their interests.
Call this self-scoring digital assessment a 6th Grade Pre-Assessment, 6th Grade Math Pre-Test, 6th Grade Math Pre-Diagnostic Test, 6th Grade Math Assessment, 6th Grade Baseline, Intervention or a 6th Grade Math Readiness Test. This useful assessment covers ONLY 6th Grade Common Core Math standards. 7th Grade standards are NOT covered. The assessment is designed to see how ready 7th grade students are for 7th grade (so we check their mastery of 6th grade standards).

There are a total of 38 multiple choice questions and students take the assessment online using Desmos, a free platform. While free-response questions are very useful, I wanted this to be quick and easy to implement. Instructions are provided on how to use Demsos in the slides (from the purchase) and preview.
