    Why use morning tubs?

Morning tubs are perfect for young learners! They are independent activities that can be completed in a small amount of time as your kids are arriving in the morning. They can be completed without teacher input so that the teacher can take care of those morning tasks (attendance, lunch count etc.) There are no worksheets involved, which saves the teacher time and energy trying to get it all completed, collected, and checked first thing in the morning.

I have provided these morning tub activities in both COLOR AND BLACK AND WHITE. I have also included an instruction sheet with each activity for your kids to use as a reference. They simply look at the picture to see what to do!

Understand the relationship between numbers and quantities; connect counting to cardinality.
When counting objects, say the number names in the standard order, pairing each object with one and only one number name and each number name with one and only one object.
Understand that the last number name said tells the number of objects counted. The number of objects is the same regardless of their arrangement or the order in which they were counted.
Count to answer “how many?” questions about as many as 20 things arranged in a line, a rectangular array, or a circle, or as many as 10 things in a scattered configuration; given a number from 1-20, count out that many objects.
Fluently add and subtract within 5.
