Place the sentence starters on your white board and have student select the sentence starter they would like to use. I have found that using these sentence starters eliminates the amount of " I don't knows" you hear when working during a writing assignment.

These sentence stems make a great support for getting your students started with writing. This product includes sentence stems for informational, opinion and narrative writing. Simply print, cut out, laminate and put a magnet on the back of each sentence stem so students can remove them from the whiteboard and hang them back up when they are finished. After I have cut, laminated and put a magnet on the back I sort them into baggies so that I have a bag of all of my narrative writing sentence stems etc.
Each section is color-coated so that your students know where to put back each sentence starter (introduction, body, conclusion).

Do you ever have a hard time getting your students to remember what they did over the weekend for weekend writing? Try these weekend writing sentence starters.
I laminate and cute out the sentence starters and put a small magnet dot on the back. I then put them all on the whiteboard when we are doing weekend writing. Students can come up to the board and take down the sentence that they would like to write. When they are finished they can put it back on the whiteboard for someone else to use.
