    ***Product 1: Room on the Broom Literacy Activities

    One of my favorite books at Halloween is: Room on the Broom. I created these activities as a companion to the book. There is 7 different activities that you can utilize when using the story. My preview video shows each page, and details are also below!

    What's included:

    • Page 1: Sequencing of story events (cut/paste) - ordering of characters as they were added to the broom.
    • Page 2: Sequencing of story events (cut/paste) - ordering of items lost by the witch, and characters added to the broom each time.
    • Page 3: ABC Order (cut/paste and color) - words found in the story (characters, items, etc).
    • Page 4: Story elements map - identifying: characters, setting, problem, and solution.
    • Page 5: Story retell map - beginning, middle, and end.
    • Page 6: Character traits - labeling 4 adjectives (and why) to describe the main character, the witch.
    • Page 7: Text to self writing - "There is room on my broom for..."

    ***Product 2: Witch Craftivity

    You can use it with the book OR simply as a festive witch activity! There are 6 different craft options for creating a witch outline for student writing. Then there are 4 different writing starters. Be sure to check out the video preview, download PDF preview, and below!

    What's included:

    • 6 different craft options/variations: 1. Witch face with legs, hands and broom, 2. Witch face with legs and hands (no broom), 3. Witch face with hands and broom (no legs), 4. Witch face with hands (no broom/legs), 5. Witch boy (cut off ponytails - use any version you like), 6. Witch legs.
    • 4 different writing starters: "If I could be a witch for the day, I would...", "My favorite part of the book was...", "There is room on my broom for...", "What I think will happen next in the story is..."
