Activity 1: Cultural Dance Project

This dance project allows students to research and understand the importance of dance throughout various cultures and perform and teach some key movements to the class.

Activity 2: Interpretive Dance Project

Students will familiarize themselves with the style of interpretive dance. There is a viewing activity of 2 videos and analysis for the 2 songs/videos presented. After, students must choose a social or environmental issue, select an appropriate song and desmonstrate through movements the cause.

• activity - analyzing interpretive dance videos
• success criteria and learning goals / instructions for students
• brainstorm page for social/environmental issues
