    ■ Learners will be able to

    • Listen hiragana sounds and recognize the characters
    • Trace hiragana characters
    • Write hiragana characters (with blank bingo cards)

With the teachers instruction, the students can have the following conversations. Please refer to below "Expressions you can use with bingo activity".

    • 「なんですか」ー「~です」
    • 「ありますか」ー「あります/ありません」

    ■ Includes

    - Hiragana BINGO

    - Katakana BINGO

In each resource the followings are included:

    - 32 unique bingo cards for printing x 2 sizes

    - 4 blank bingo cards for printing x 2 sizes

    - 1 set of calling cards

    - 4 sets of markers x 2 sizes

    ■ How to Use

    Bingo Cards

-When the students mark a character, they can trace or circle the character, or put a bingo marker on their cards depending on their stage of learning.

    Blank Cards

-When the students are getting more used to write characters or have leaned most of them, you can have the students write 24 characters on their blank cards and play bingo. This would encourage the students to write the characters.

    Recommended:

    - Laminating the bingo cards is a choice. With laminated cards, your students can use dry erase markers to trace the characters and can wipe them off after use (or the students can use the bingo markers to put on their cards). In this way, you can use the cards again and again in the future. This will be helpful to use any spare time reviewing the characters.

    ■ Expressions you can use with bingo activity

These are simple conversations you can use during the bingo activity. Your students can learn them in a natural situation to use them.

    • 「なんですか」ー「~です」: You hide the calling cards in an envelop or a bag. When you pick a calling card you can have your students ask「なんですか」before you reading it. You answer the question using「~です」.
    • 「ありますか」ー「あります/ありません」: While your students are looking for the corresponding character, you can ask them 「ありますか」and your students can answer it using「あります/ありません」.
    • 「あと ひとつ」: When the students are ready to get bingo with one more character, they can use「あと ひとつ」.
    • 「いくつ ビンゴが ありますか」ー「~つ あります」: When bingo game is over, you can ask your students how many bingos they have got.

    ■ Paper Size for printing

    Letter size (8.5 inch x 11 inch)

(You can print on A4 size papers, as well. Please adjust your printer setting.)
