The Story Kits are illustrated by a children's artist, and a poster of each illustration is included in the Story Kits, to decorate your classroom and to use as a visual aid for story discussion . Also available are Story Trading Cards, for students to collect with each new story that they read. The Story Kits come with a Story Word List, for individual word practice, for automaticity and fluency. Also included in the Story Kits are non-illustrated copies of the stories, so teachers can write notes about the students' decoding errors, to inform future instruction. Teachers can print stories and put them in page protectors, if desired.

Students can use the word cards for beginning phrase and sentence construction, along with the included Phrase and Sentence Board. The Word Cards can be printed on Avery Business Cards for easy perforation, if desired.
