This BUNDLE is 2 amazing resources that are handouts for an Avid school. My teachers love the John Hattie Integration which tells them the strategies to use to get the largest effect size. The avid strategies are separated into the WICOR categories. The notes handout has the different types of focused Notes as well as the 5 phases of note-taking.

Avid/Hattie Resource:

You need this resource whether you are a new or old Avid school. I know it seems expensive for just 2 pages, but I promise you it is WORTH it! I matched all of the Avid strategies to Hattie's Visual Learning Barometer so you can see how the Avid strategies match up to learning effect sizes. If you are just starting your Avid journey and need to get your staff on board, THIS WILL DO IT! Something to remember is that John Hattie's effect size of .4 equals ONE school year. Anything over that is growth of more than one school year. Sorry for the grayed-out boxes, but with only 2 pages, I had to protect my work. I think you can see enough of it to know that it is magical! Focused Note/5 Phases Resource:

This is a set of handouts (2 of them) that go into detail about focused note-taking that avid study skills teach students. It is great for the elective, study skills class, RSP, ELA, or any place where your students take notes. There are descriptions and use examples for 7 different note types. They are Cornell Notes, 2 & 3-Column Notes, Sketchnotes & One Pagers, Interactive Notebooks, Combination Notes, Graphic Organizers, and Charts/Tables.

Then there is a handout with the 5 Phases of the Focused Note-Taking Process.
