Unit 1 Foundations of management
In the introductory unit of Business Leadership, you will learn about the characteristics and purpose of an organization. You will learn about three different levels of management while exploring management roles, responsibilities, activities, skills, and competencies.
Unit 2 leading
In the second unit of Business Leadership: Management Fundamentals, you will look at human behavior in the workplace. You will learn about personality and evaluate the use of personality traits assessment instruments. You will also examine how an individual’s attitude affects behavior in the workplace.
Unit 3 planning and controlling
In the third unit of Business Leadership: Management Fundamentals, you will examine the planning and controlling functions of management in detail. You will begin by studying the importance of planning to the success of an organization. Next, you will study the planning process and the role of creativity in planning.
Unit 4 Organizing
In the fourth unit of Business Leadership: Management Fundamentals, you will study the management function of organizing. You will begin with a look at the four traditional organizational structures: functional, divisional, hybrid, and matrix.
Unit 5 management challenges
In this unit of Business Leadership: Management Fundamentals, you will examine three major challenges that all managers face: motivation, communication, and stress. You will also explain the relationship between motivation, rewards, and job performance.
