Description
This printable Game Board and complementary 63 slide PowerPoint contains 60 comprehensive multiple choice questions to help students prepare for a standardized final (EOC) biology exam. Each slide has an animated timer with times ranging from 15-45 seconds. Students play in small groups with one laptop. All students record their answers to all 60 questions, advancing on the game board as they answer correctly.
The animated timers are to motivate and engage. However, more or less time can be used since a mouse click is needed to reveal the correct answer.
2 PRINTING OPTIONS
The Game Board PDF can be printed on regular letter paper or works even better on legal paper (8 1/2" x 14"). They can be printed in color or grayscale.
GAME PLAY
Put students in small groups with one laptop. The running presentation displays one question at a time with 4 answer choices. For each question, ALL students write their answer (A-D) on their printed answer blank. A second mouse click will reveal the correct answer. Each player with the correct answer will roll to advance on the game board. If players reach FINISH before they have completed all 60 questions, have them return to start and play again. The presentation will return to Question 1 if no player has reached Finish after 60 questions.
Playing as pairs (with a partner) works well, too!
NEEDED FOR SETUP
Each Group will need:
1 Printed Game Board
1 Die
A playing piece for each player or team
1 Laptop to run the 60 Question Microsoft PowerPoint
***This presentation can be presented in Google Slides. However, the animated timers will move much faster. Students won't be rushed to answer as an additional mouse click is still required to reveal the solution.
EDITABLE QUESTIONS
The PowerPoint is editable if you would like to rearrange or edit questions. You can also duplicate slides to create additional, original questions.
