Description
If you are looking for a simple and effective way to teach BC AD and/or BCE CE to your students, you are in the right place! This no-prep resource for Google Drive + PDF not only teaches students about BC/AD + BCE/CE, but also gives them opportunity to practice!
This resource includes:
- Teacher Guide (PDF)
- Student Handouts (Information Sheet + Worksheet, with answer keys)
- Editable Google Slideshow
- Editable Google Doc versions of the Student Handouts
- Self-Grading Google Forms (one version for BC/AD and one for BCE/CE)
- 2 Printable Posters about the topic to display in your classroom
On the BCE CE/BC AD Worksheet + corresponding Google Forms, students will demonstrate their understanding of three things. First, they will identify the number of years between different events, some in BCE and some in CE. Second, they will have to identify the age of various world leaders using BCE and CE. Third, they will have to correctly organize world events on a timeline. For your convenience, there are two versions of the worksheet and Google Forms...one using BCE and CE, and one using BC and AD, so you can use whichever version best matches your curriculum!
When teaching, we recommend to go over the Google Slideshow or information sheet with your students first, give them time to work on the worksheet, Google Doc, or Google Form, and then correct/discuss their answers at the end of class (or at the start of the next class if you need more time).
If your students need additional help, you could go through a few of the questions from the worksheet with them, to model how they can interact with the numbers. If your students need enrichment, you could have them create their own examples using BCE and CE.
