Bring your Ancient Greece unit to life with this engaging Athens vs Sparta Rap Battle! In this printable and digital Athens vs Sparta activity, students will learn more about Athens and Sparta to write a rap, song, or poem that highlights the differences between the two city-states.
While a rap battle is not the most traditional school project or activity, in our teaching experience, it has proven to be one of the most memorable assignments of the year. In this project, students will work alone or in a small groups to write a rap, song, or poem about the differences between Athens and Sparta.
As part of a recent update based upon some feedback we received, we have added detailed reading passages about both Athens and Sparta and provided a sample rap/poem that compares Corinth and Thebes. This will give students a clear example of what they will be doing, along with more information to work with!
