Description
My kids are krazy for K-pop! What a better way to celebrate Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month than with a fun and engaging lesson about one of the newest and most popular types of music in the world: K-Pop!
K-Pop is short for Korean Pop music and it's big in Asia and becoming more popular everywhere thanks to the runaway success of PSY's Gangnam Style. But what do we really know about Korea and it's music?

This lesson touches briefly on geography and the history of the country, including recent news items (as of May 2018) There is a component of traditional music including the gayageum & samulnori, but the focus on modern K-Pop has students watching and rating up to 8 contemporary music videos based on the groups' singing, dancing, and fashion. Eventually, the focus shifts to students dancing and, with the help of a step-by-step video tutorial, students learn 6 different K-Pop dance moves and use them in an action-packed relay race!
Great for fans of K-Pop or amazing as a stand-alone unit(s). Incorporate music, social studies, world history, and dance into your classroom with this fun and festive lesson!
