    Description

This bundle contains four of my most popular products at a special price.

    (1) Critical Thinking with Famous Photographs

This mini-unit takes two-three days, depending on the depth at which you choose to take it, and leaves students wanting to know more. And, to set the mood, don't forget to add some sad, moving classical music (I recommend "Theme to Schindler's List," "The Pathetique Sonata," and "Graceful Ghost.") playing softly in the background as students read. The photographs and corresponding informational reading is quite intriguing and engages students' on both an affective and cognitive level.

Enough material for two-three day lesson. This is one of the lessons I look forward to teaching every year!

    (2) Creative Narrative Writing Prompts with Paintings

One class period devoted to inferring the story inside art pieces - short time required with big results. Kids practice creativity, building a narrative, and using fact-based inference skills. Their enjoyment will enhance the powerful effect of the lessons. Included: Narrative Writing prompts, bookmarks, stationery, PowerPoint, Graphic Organizer, student and teacher directions. Play music softly in the background to activate more brain function. Fun, thought-provoking activity for middle and high school.

    Contents:

    Direction slip for students.

    Fact and opinion graphic organizer.

    PowerPoint containing famous thought-provoking paintings.

    Creative writing prompt.

Twelve bookmarks with paintings (front and back lined pages for student writing).

Narrative prompts stationary (front and back lined pages).

    (3) Summary Activities with Arts-Infused Activities

This is a great way to learn and practice summary - for any time of year. Based on the theme of love, this fun, arts-infused summary skills lesson is designed in four parts. It combines the CCSS ELA standards of summarizing, paraphrasing, argument, and support plus Speaking and Listening group work skills - all using the theme of love. Summary task cards are included. You’ll find these lessons to be differentiated, art-infused, literacy-based, and geared toward multiple learning styles. Learning targets are included. Summary skills lesson plans are an educational and fun way to celebrate the theme of l’ amour.
