What educators are saying

Great activity to keep kids engaged whilst practising sounds in isolation and in syllables. Love that these pages are super easy to give for home practice, too!
Love this resource as it is perfect to send home so my students can get some fun and easy home practice of their sounds in isolation! Also a great warm up for all students working on various speech sounds!

    Description

Are you struggling to find meaningful (No PREP) resources to support your students when they are still learning to say their sounds in isolation? It can sometimes take forever, right? This simple print & go pack will motivate and engage your kids to keep practicing (while coloring, stamping, painting...) with cute pictures representing their core sound for ample opportunities to practice.

    WHEN TO USE:

    1. Traditional Articulation approach: Use in practice when you are trying to elicit speech sounds. You may find that certain vowel sounds act in a facilitative context for the sound you are working on.

    2. Phonological delays: If you are using a phonological approach and your child is NOT stimulable for one or more of the targets, these sheets can be used in pre-practice.

    3. Childhood Apraxia of Speech: The vowel strips at the bottom of each worksheet can allow you to work at the syllable level using CV, VC, or VCV combinations.

Try it out with my FREEBIE Articulation in Isolation Worksheets Sample

    All main sounds are included, f, v, s, z, h, sh, th, k, g, p, b, t, d, l, r, y, w, m, n, j, and ch

This resource can be used for syllable, word, or higher levels. You can easily adapt this and write syllables on each corresponding picture, or have a set word list next to you and get them to color in the pictures as a reinforcer. This is also great for your Apraxia kids, especially t the early stages of C, VC, and CV levels. This allows you to be flexible and creative and use this product for EVERY articulation student.

Read on the Blog some tips and tricks that I use when students seem to be stuck at this level.⭐

    Explaining the worksheets:

Each page has a picture that references the sound (in isolation) for example: "The bird is losing all of its colorful feathers. For every great ‘f’ sound, color in a feather." There are 20 pictures to color, so a minimum of 20 opportunities to practice the sound. You can always increase this by using dice or asking for 5 repetitions before they say the sound. Fitting two sheets to a page, it’s easy to do one set in therapy and one for homework... plus smaller pictures to color, which means that it's faster ;)

What SLP's like you are saying:

❝ Brilliant idea to put two worksheets on a page. They're plenty big...❞

❝ I like how there are multiple pages for each sound.❞

❝ Working on sounds in isolation can be so tedious, so it's fun to have something to do.❞
