What educators are saying

This is a great way to get a lot of trials in in a short amount of time. My students always love anything with dotters too! Great resource. Minimal prep required.
This resource is very engaging and useful for much more than just articulation. I've also used it for following directions that I've come up with on my own. (In the top row color the star yellow and in the bottom row color the bird blue.) My students really enjoyed this activity.

Description

no-prep speech therapy articulation activities with a fun twist! Use dot markers to find and dot the pictures while practicing articulation of r, s, l, th, f, v, k, g, sh, ch, j, blends, and more. Repeat each word 3x for over 100 repetitions of each phoneme!

You'll love this articulation picture search activity to send home as articulation homework or articulation summer packets too.

Dot-a-Doodle pages include practice for initial, medial, and final word positions, then kick it up a notch with mixed practice pages of all word positions for the selected phoneme.

Your children will love finding and coloring the pictures with dot markers, markers, or crayons. Can you spot them all?

This versatile product can also be used for phonological awareness and following directions practice.

HOW TO USE IT:

Articulation Practice

There are 9 target words per page, each pictured 4 times in the picture grid. Find each target picture with the target phoneme and color it with dot markers or crayons. Next, say the word or use it in a sentence. Have your students repeat each word found 3x for over 100 practice opportunities per page!

Phonological Awareness Practice

Students will say or listen to the instructor as they read each pictured word in the grid. The student identifies the images that contain their target sound and tells the position of the sound in the word.

Did that word have your sound? Was the sound in the beginning? Middle? End? Next, dot or color the picture with their sound.

Following Directions Practice

Color the pictures according to the key (Color the hive yellow)

OR You can give your own directions with spatial concepts, ordinal concepts, pictures, colors and description.

For example:

  • Color the second picture in the row yellow and the third one orange.
  • Color the pictures above the rake purple.
  • Color the pictures beside the chest red.
  • Color the first picture in the row green, and the last one blue.
  • In the fourth row, color something that hops green.
