    Description

    This art lesson bundle is a great resource to introduce your student to five different artists. This bundle includes Henri Matisse, Ellsworth Kelly, Paul Klee, Wassily Kandinsky and Vincent Van Gogh. The lesson is perfect for K through 5th grade with some variations. Students will have the opportunity to explore directed line drawing and working with color, line, texture and pattern. The lesson will invite the students to create a beautiful unique art piece inspired by these five artists.

    The projects are as follows:

    -Matisse: The Dancer

    Henri Émile Benoît Matisse was a French visual artist, known for both his use of colour and his fluid and original draughtsmanship

    -Kelly: Nine Squares

    Ellsworth Kelly was an American painter, sculptor, and printmaker associated with hard-edge painting, Color Field painting

    -Klee: Cubism

    Paul Klee was a Swiss-born German artist. His highly individual style was influenced by movements in art that included expressionism, cubism, and surrealism

    -Kandinsky: Circles

    Wassily Kandinsky was a Russian painter and art theorist. Kandinsky is generally credited as one of the pioneers of abstraction in western art

    Van Gogh: Almond Blossoms

    Vincent van Gogh was a Dutch Post-Impressionist painter who posthumously became one of the most famous and influential figures in Western art history

    You can use these lessons in the following ways:

    • 30-45 minute sub plans
    • a simple design that helps to build a student’s confidence in drawing
    • an art lesson introducing 5 different artists
