    Description

Attention Montessori and Kindergarten Teachers! Are you looking for an engaging and creative way to teach your students about renowned artists Gustav Klimt, Alexander Calder, and Hundertwasser? Look no further than our art lessons!
Our lesson plan offers 5 unique ways to use this product and teach about these three influential artists:

    1. Explore the life and work of Gustav Klimt: Introduce your students to the beautiful and intricate artwork of Gustav Klimt, an Austrian symbolist painter. Our lesson plan includes a brief biography of Klimt and a selection of his artwork to showcase his signature style and technique.
    2. Create Calder-inspired mobiles: Using pictures of Alexander Calder's kinetic sculptures (NOT included in lesson) as inspiration, encourage your students to create their own hanging mobiles using paper, wire, and other materials. This lesson will give instructions to make a TWO-DIMENSIONAL painting.
    3. Experiment with textures and shapes: Using Hundertwasser's colorful and whimsical artwork as inspiration, have your students experiment with different textures and shapes by creating mixed media collages. This activity encourages creativity and allows students to explore color theory and composition.
    4. Paint portraits in Klimt's style: After studying Klimt's artwork, encourage your students to create their own portraits using his signature gold leaf and decorative motifs. This activity promotes fine motor skills and allows students to experiment with different painting techniques.
    5. Showcase the finished pieces: Once the art lessons are complete, create a showcase display of your students' artwork for parents and visitors to see. This not only celebrates your students' creative talents but also showcases the skills and techniques they have learned.

Our lesson plan offers everything you need to teach about these three influential artists and create beautiful, meaningful artwork with your students.

Measure the length of an object by selecting and using appropriate tools such as rulers, yardsticks, meter sticks, and measuring tapes.
Distinguish between defining attributes (e.g., triangles are closed and three-sided) versus non-defining attributes (e.g., color, orientation, overall size); build and draw shapes to possess defining attributes.
Compose two-dimensional shapes (rectangles, squares, trapezoids, triangles, half-circles, and quarter-circles) or three-dimensional shapes (cubes, right rectangular prisms, right circular cones, and right circular cylinders) to create a composite shape, and compose new shapes from the composite shape.
Partition circles and rectangles into two and four equal shares, describe the shares using the words halves, fourths, and quarters, and use the phrases half of, fourth of, and quarter of. Describe the whole as two of, or four of the shares. Understand for these examples that decomposing into more equal shares creates smaller shares.
Recognize and draw shapes having specified attributes, such as a given number of angles or a given number of equal faces. Identify triangles, quadrilaterals, pentagons, hexagons, and cubes.
