What educators are saying

My students were very engaged with the lessons in this resource. There is a great variety of artists and art concepts covered.
My students have really enjoyed this resource, especially the discussion prompts and simple projects. They're placing them in a portfolio as we complete each lesson and are looking forward to their completed works.

Description

No Prep Art History has unique lessons that teach about famous artists and art movements from cave art to modern art. Each lesson has a teacher script, attention to the world map and culture, as well as at least one art project with extensions where possible.

**This unit has been significantly updated with many more pictures of student work and examples, design and layout. More lessons have been added! These lessons do not have as many supporting class photos yet, but will be added as they are acquired.

Each of the art lessons contain a read-aloud script that makes it easy to deliver an engaging discussion about art history without needed any previous background yourself.

Questions are embedded, and each time period has at least one art project that is simple and easy to complete, keeping in mind that many schools have limited budgets for art supplies, or limited time to complete.

Students will gain a great sense of art techniques, as well as a sense of history and culture as reflected in the art periods discussed.

PLEASE NOTE

There are two versions of this product!

One is for Lower elementary, and one is for upper elementary (this page).

Please do NOT buy both versions unless you are teaching all grades K to 8.

If you are deciding between the two...

I recommend that if you are teaching any grades from K to 5, I would recommend the younger version: you can see it by clicking here:

Art History for Elementary

The difference between the two versions:

*This older student version is a more advanced in the teacher scripts to read aloud to your students. There is more emphasis on the artist locations on the world map and the World History timeline. There are several more lessons in this pack, but fewer photos and projects. The lessons in this pack are contained all in one file, whereas the lower elementary version divides each lesson into it's own file. There are not as many literacy extensions or activities for early finishers, as they are for a younger audience.

*Younger student version: Slightly fewer lessons, but many more photos and directions. The teacher scripts are geared towards K-5 students. Lessons are in their own file for organization. There are LOTS of additional writing and literacy activities, including coloring pages, word searches, mini-books, reflection writing, etc to expand your lessons and for early finishers (hence the higher price).
