Description

Have students learn a fun rhyme with Hedgie the Hedgehog for making equal groups into rows for an array! You can combine this with a small group math lesson or use as a rhyming text for literacy! Why not integrate both?!

Use it in brain breaks and transitions for engagement and a management tool as well - it closes with students folding their arms and resting.

Integrate reading, listening, language, multiplication and actions - a truly integrated learning experience!

You can teach students the rhyme and action while projecting the words onto your board or by printing the text out onto paper.

Finger Plays and Action Rhymes help you combine essential early language activities with:

  • classroom management
  • establishing class community (learning something together)
  • developing confidence in little learners
  • building vocabulary and language skills
  • early reading
  • fine motor dexterity
  • transitioning between activities
  • building verbal and auditory-memory skills

A one page array dice activity worksheet is also included - enjoy!
