Teaching writing can always be challenging! I have found that showing my students an example is very helpful for them to see all the necessary parts. In this product, students will read an example argumentative essay on cell phones in school. Students color-code the essay based on the different parts on an effective argumentative essay and answer questions for analysis I've also included a handout explaining the necessary parts of each paragraph.
This is such a powerful tool for students to see the different parts of an argumentative essay. Once they have written their own essay, I have them color-code their rough draft in the same way. They can easily see where they are missing items.
