There are simple instructions and student-friendly rubrics in checklist formats that will explain to your 6-11th graders what is required for them to get a passing score on their Informative/Explanatory or Argumentative Essay on your State Writing Assessment.

Students can use the included rubrics as checklists for evaluating the content of their own essay and/or save you TONS of time by having pairs or small groups conduct peer evaluations of each others' essays. (This element of the bundle meets the required standard for many curriculums:

"The student will self- and peer-edit writing for capitalization, punctuation, spelling, sentence structure, paragraphing, and Standard English. Use parallel structure across sentences and paragraphs."
