Description

*editable*
These squares are designed to help students create and manipulate figures while exploring area and perimeter. Students can move the squares to learn how the concepts are related. (ex: using 12 squares, find the smallest and largest possible perimeters)
I quickly created this resource to send home to my 3rd graders during the COVID19 school shut down, so it's not beautiful, but I hope it can help someone!
When I teach this 'in person' I do a similar activity using the tile lines on our floor and pieces of paper, so I'm hoping to re-create the experience for the students at home.
