Description

INTEGRATE STEM IN YOUR CLASSROOM WITH THIS GEOLOGICAL LESSON!
Students will dig into rubbish as they take on the role of an archaeologists to analyze artifacts in this STEM activity! In this challenge students will dig through a bag of school trash to put together a timeline of events. They will then use deductive reasoning to draw conclusions about the events of a nearby neighbor in an apartment.

Students will develop critical thinking and engineering skills as they work through the challenge. They will use the engineer design process the brainstorm, plan, create, test and improve! Opportunities for reflection are incorporated into the activity.  
Materials:
Gloves
Trash from various locations within the school
Plastic table clothes or newspaper
