Archaeologist Classroom Artifact Worksheet

This simple 2 -page worksheet encourages students to think like an archaeologist by selecting an object from your classroom to analyze as if it was 500 years in the future.

A directions sections explains how students must theorize what the object's purpose was, who used it, and what it tells them about our civilization. After taking notes on the object in a provided space, students turn over their papers and write a narrative about their findings and what the object helped them understand about out civilization.

This is great for a lesson on prehistory or the study of archaeology and how we know about the past. It also works great as a Back to School activity for any history class!
