Description

Get your student's creative writing juices flowing with over 40 April themed guided journal prompts for Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second Grade. Can be used as a morning work journal, writing centers, homework, or daily handwriting practice. These guided journal prompts include a variety of April themed writing prompts such as Easter, Earth Day, April Fool's Day, spring, and more!

Stay consistent with your Handwriting Without Tears® curriculum by using these guided journal pages featuring Handwriting Without Tears® style letter strokes. This journal is perfect for new or struggling writers, and includes options for advanced writers as well. The daily prompts allow the student to trace the letters with proper strokes and spacing. These journal pages are specifically designed for handwriting practice. Many other journal prompts out there do not focus on the handwriting aspect. This journal covers everything - creative writing, core aligned ELA, visual arts/drawing, current events, and functional handwriting.

Daily handwriting practice is important to all new writers. Daily practice not only improves handwriting, but gives the student practice with spelling, grammar, and reading skills. The physical act of writing stimulates muscle memory and helps the student transfer letter formation and spelling to long-term memory. These journal pages include an area for the student to practice writing their name (enough space to write their first and last name) and the date. The repetition of writing this every day in the same format allows them to truly memorize and perfect their new writing skills.

This set includes a variety of pre-made journal covers plus 2 blank styles for your students to create their own design. This set includes enough journal pages and topics to do daily writing for the entire month of March including weekends and non-school days. Also included in this set are two itemized checklists to keep you organized throughout the month.

As a former Disney graphic designer (and typography enthusiast), I took extra care to ensure the authenticity of the letter strokes and formation. My worksheets fill in the gaps and provide ample practice for your students to grasp the muscle memory needed for proper handwriting instruction. As a graphic designer AND teacher, I've worked tirelessly to create a quality product that meets the needs of beginning writers. Many other handwriting practice pages out there do not meet the appropriate size, scale, spacing, and proportions needed for success in these areas. For new or struggling writers, the actual design of the worksheet is as important as the content. I hope you and your students enjoy these simple yet highly effective handwriting practice printables.

If you're looking for alphabet practice only, please check out my other handwriting worksheets. I also offer a daily joke handwriting practice book. This joke set is perfect for students who have advanced beyond just writing the alphabet, but might not be ready for writing words and sentences on their own.

For more April themed handwriting, please check out my Easter practice sheets.

Please follow my store to stay current on upcoming sales and be the first to see the new units I add. If you plan to use these monthly journals in your classroom, please rest assured each of the months will be released in ample time for your planning convenience.

Give your students the gift of beautiful penmanship! Happy Handwriting! ⭐️
