What educators are saying

We are loving this resource and putting together our own non-fiction books about famous people. It is easy to use and the kids love it.
I have used these for two years now. I love how there are different setups you can choose from. Students love writing their own informational texts.

Description

Why just make a text feature reference book when you can apply text features in writing???! There are templates and a design your own text. Kids love cutting out the text features to "build their own" book!

Students will truly understand how authors organize information in non-fiction texts after they have become authors who use text features themselves.

Uses:
-Whole group about a topic researched where everyone makes the same book. This would be good for younger grades or as an introductory lesson on using text features in writing.

-With partners or individually.

-Older students or gifted students can cut and paste their text features to create their own book so it is a more authentic experience. Also, what a great assessment!

Enjoy writing non-fiction texts with your class!
