Description
Anxiety anchors are strategies to help silence the worry voice (anxiety) and reframe thoughts by using a smart voice. In this activity, worry voice sentences are given and a smart voice sentence line is provided to replace it.
What’s included:
1 Worksheet (to complete alone or with help)
1 Worksheet Extension (for a take home assignment or extra practice)
Who it’s for:
-Clients who are suffering from anxiety and are learning the basic steps to distinguishing anxious thoughts from rational thoughts.
-Upper elementary (and older) clients who benefit from simplified language and step by step processing.
Intended purposes:
-Help supplement counseling sessions through writing.
-Give clients visual cues and a quick tangible resource.
-I find that it’s important clients write their names on the work they produce. This simple step gives a level of ownership, accountability and responsibility; therefore, a name and date field are provided on each worksheet.
