Description
Need a last-minute activity to do with your students for Valentine's Day? This product aligns with many Common-Core standards for grades 6-8 while still providing students with a bit of fun!
Teachers (and/or students) must have access to Youtube or Disney + to be able to utilize this product as it requires viewing Disney's, "Recess," cartoon Season 3 Episode 4: "My Funny Valentine." In this 10 minute episode, student, TJ, announces to the class that he does NOT like Valentine's Day, and he does not care about receiving valentines. In an attempt to be humorous, TJ makes handmade valentines for all of the girls in his class including anti-love jokes inside of them. However, things get complicated whenever TJ's plans backfire and the girls end up thinking it's sweet. Oh, and did I mention, they also all believe they are the only girl who received a special valentine from TJ!
Students will laugh and enjoy reminiscing about the days of recess and candy hearts. This product gives teachers access to a Google form with Before/After viewing questions as well as a narrative prompt asking students to extend the narrative from the teacher's point of view.
