Description

Your students will learn all about food chains with this Promethean ActivInspire flipchart lesson. This lesson is packed full of 40 pages of interactive activities and should take you about 4 - 5 days to get through.

This flipchart includes the following vocabulary terms: predator, prey, consumer, producer, carnivore, omnivore, herbivore, food chain, quarternary consumer, tertiary consumer, secondary consumer, primary consumer, and primary producer.

This lesson includes three different pages, each with animals that are carnivores, herbivores, and omnivores to discuss with your students.

There is also a container activity where students have to drag animals to their correct classification: herbivore, omnivore, or carnivore.

There are 10 pages of voting. Students view an animal and then vote whether the animal is an herbivore, carnivore, or omnivore.

A discussion page about food chains. Students interact with the board by writing their definition. They pull the arrow up to view the frame with the correct definition of food chains to see if they are correct.

A page where students have to put the correct items in a food chain in order.

Six pages of Grassland Biome activities. Students have to identify the primary producer, primary consumer, tertiary consumer, secondary consumer, and quarternary consumer. Then they have to put the animals in the correct order of the food chain.

Seven pages of Pond Biome activities (similar to the Grassland activities)

Six pages of Ocean Biome activities (similar to the Pond Biome activities.)

I used this flipchart with my third graders thinking it may be too difficult, but they LOVE it and are really catching on and able to identify all of the animal classifications. I would gear it for 3-6th graders.
