What educators are saying

My students loved the way they could interact with this activity. I used it to teach whole group, then take a "break" and let them doodle, color, or ask questions.
We love anchor charts and these really supported my students learning and served as a good review tool.

Description

This resource contains four different anchor charts to help students learn about angles

To be more specific, the anchor charts demonstrate how to

  • recognize adjacent, vertical, complementary, and supplementary angles
  • recognize corresponding, alternating interior, and alternating exterior angles when two parallel lines are cut by a transversal
  • find unknown angles when two parallel lines are cut by a transversal
  • utilize the exterior angle theorem to find missing angles

This product also includes directions on how you can enlarge these anchor charts for free! Having the ability to see these charts from anywhere in the room has, in particular, really helped my ELL and SPED students master these challenging concepts.

Possible uses for this product include

  • enlarge and use as classroom decor
  • include as a part of an interactive notebook
  • print on the back of homework assignments
  • send to absent students to help them catch up on missed classroom instruction

These anchor charts come in color as well as in black and white.

Use informal arguments to establish facts about the angle sum and exterior angle of triangles, about the angles created when parallel lines are cut by a transversal, and the angle-angle criterion for similarity of triangles. For example, arrange three copies of the same triangle so that the sum of the three angles appears to form a line, and give an argument in terms of transversals why this is so.
