    Description

    Teach your students about Andy Warhol with this 35-slide PowerPoint presentation all about his life and work, plus an accompanying art lesson!

    This art project will help students create their own colorful, repetitive portraits inspired by Andy Warhol! Recommended for students in grades 3, 4, 5, and up. The PowerPoint may take up to one class period, and the art lesson will likely take three or four class periods.

    This lesson requires no prep aside from photocopying the student handouts. Download and begin teaching right away!

    This Bundle includes two Resources:

    1. An editable 35-slide PowerPoint that includes a short student-friendly biography of Andy Warhol and several of his works, generally presented in chronological order. Most of the artworks include the title and date of the work.
    2. Andy Warhol Pop Art Portrait Art Lesson, delivered as a PDF, that includes:
    • Information about the art lesson and procedures for the teacher
    • “Drawing a Portrait” handout
    • 3 versions of the student direction handout (one to use for 12” square drawing paper, 9” square drawing paper, and 9”x12” drawing paper)
    • Andy Warhol Artwork Visuals
    • Andy Warhol Word Search
    • Grading Rubrics

    Materials needed for the Art Lesson:

    • Drawing paper: 12”x12”, 9”x9”, or 9”x12”
    • Pencils
    • Thin black permanent markers like Sharpies
    • Rulers or straightedge
    • Masking tape
    • Crayons, or other coloring material of choice
