Description

Age of Jackson - Andrew Jackson Webquest. For years I would have students go through the Andrew Jackson webquest on the PBS web site, but all of a sudden PBS retired that site! From necessity comes innovation and I created my own webquest using the new Andrew Jackson Hermitage web site and various YouTube clips regarding Jackson's life.

This file is a Google Drive file to be used with Google Docs. There is also a .pdf file if you have students who prefer writing instead of typing.

This webquest takes students through Jackson's early life when he all of a sudden found himself an orphan at the age of 14, to his famous duel with Charles Dickinson, to the election of 1824 and the "corrupt bargain," to his fight to take down the National Bank.

Students will write mini-reflections and summaries in the text boxes provided which will allow them to read/view, process, analyze, and interpret the information they are discovering.

The final objective for students is to decide if Andrew Jackson, quite possibly one our most controversial presidents, is worthy of being depicted on our national currency.
