What educators are saying

Great resource for Rome study. Students loved choice (although I did add a few choices of my own). Their projects turned out quite well. Recommend.

Description

Ancient Rome - Roman Emperors - Research Project with Rubric - This Ancient Rome 5 page resource includes a research project for the famous emperors of Ancient Rome. The resource requires students to complete research on a chosen emperor from Ancient Rome in relation to his history and significance and then to create a display to show their research.

The resource includes a student handout that details the expectations of the project and how it can best be completed. As well, it contains a list of 10 different emperors that can be researched from Ancient Rome, thereby allowing enough topics for a large class.

Next, the resource includes a research organizer for students (or small groups) to use when completing their research for their chosen emperor from Ancient Rome. It contains boxes with titles of information for students to complete before they begin creating their project.

As well, the resource includes a marking rubric for the teacher to use when assessing the completed projects. The rubric is also a powerful tool to provide to students as they complete their projects and for use with self-assessment or peer assessment.

Finally, the resource includes a two page teacher guide that provides step-by-step instructions on how to carry out the Ancient Rome / Emperors Research Project. As well, it details opportunities for differentiation, online research sources for students and how the project can be used to enhance collaboration among students.

This is an excellent tool when learning about Ancient Rome and the specific emperors associated with the time period. It is an excellent resource for having your students collaborate, research and showing their understanding in creative and innovative ways. It will make a great addition to any Ancient Rome unit of study!
