Ancient Roman Mosaics - Art Project of Ancient Rome

The Ancient Romans created mosaic art using tiny tiles. We have created a packet that allows students to experiment with this Ancient Roman artwork. Using tiny squares (or tesserae) of paper (already counted out- it just needs to be printed and cut), the students can glue these to their designated places on the Roman Mosaic Tile of their choice.

There are three options for Mosaics in this packet : a Flower, a Ship, and a Sun.

This particular project will be best showcased with color printing and we recommend card-stock for best results. We provide a lesson plan in both color and black/white. Skilled younger children will be able to do this also (with a little guidance), but as the tesserae squares are very small, this product will be best utilized for kids that are in 4th grade and above.
