Included in this bundle are the following resources:

Ancient India Inquiry Activity for PDF and Google Drive:

Students will analyze the eight "mystery clues" and document their observations and predictions in the provided chart as they try to answer the question: Who were the people of Ancient India? The clues include images of the Ganges River, Himalayas, monsoon flooding, Mohenjo-Daro, a seal, and more! Then, there is an editable slideshow you can use to share the significance of each image with your students.

Ancient India Caste System Activity and Reading for PDF and Google Drive:

Teaching about the caste system can be difficult, but this no-prep and editable Ancient India Caste System Activity and Reading can help! This printable and digital resource includes a two-page reading about the caste system, an activity that compares the caste system to American society, and some scenarios to help students apply their knowledge of the caste system.

Hinduism and Buddhism ABC Slideshow Project for Google Slides:

The premise of the assignment is that students will create a slideshow with one slide for each letter of the alphabet. Students will select key terms from Hinduism and Buddhism to place on each slide that corresponds with that letter of the alphabet. On each slide, students will include the word they chose, a definition of that word, an image that corresponds with that word, and they will color code the slide based upon whether the word is related to Hinduism, Buddhism, or both. Since there are three different levels for this project, you can decide which variations of the assignment you wish to use!

Ancient India Activity: Newscast Project (for PDF and Google Drive):

This creative Newscast Project will be the highlight of your Ancient India unit! This no-prep activity works for both PDF and Google Drive, and can be used at any point in your Ancient India unit, or even at the end as a review activity or final assessment! Some of the skits topics included in this newscast are a weather report about monsoons, a breaking news story pertaining to the caste system, a game-show style segment with questions about Hinduism and Buddhism, a political debate with leaders like Chandragupta Maurya and Asoka, a commercial about housing in Harappa, and a lot more! Once students have been assigned roles, they will conduct research about their topic and write a script, which they will then perform as part of the official class newscast.
