What educators are saying

As always, my students enjoyed Mr. E's escape room! I think that all the escape rooms this store makes are wonderful, engaging, and so fun for both the teacher and students. I love watching them have those "aha" moments.
This was a great addition to our study of Ancient Civilizations! My students were fully engaged and challenged! It took them a while to figure out the Roman numerals which was great! Thanks!

Description

In this Ancient Greece Escape Room activity, students are introduced to Greek and Phoenician characters and Roman numerals as they race to beat the clock to save ancient artifacts! Can you crack the code before time expires?

Students are placed in investigative teams as they analyze fictional ancient texts from Hadrian's Library in ancient Greece. Students work together to translate four hidden clues using Greek and Phoenician alphabet characters as well as Roman numerals, conduct basic research relating to ancient Greece history, then bring all of their knowledge together to solve the final clue. Do you have what it takes to crack Hadrian's clues and save the ancient artifacts? Can you crackc the code before time expires?

Note: Due to the complexity and variety of the Greek characters, several early Phoenician (a heavy influence on the Greek language) are also used. The goal of this resource is to promote team building and collaboration while reviewing content on the ancient Greek civilization.

Students use the ancient Greek alphabet and Latin Roman numerals to translate four secret clues, conduct research or use background knowledge, and solve the final clue by piecing together the information they have learned. A 60-minute timer is also included to display as student teams try to break the code!

Guaranteed to excite and engage your classroom!

Leave your students asking for more (like mine do)!

Don't have a box or a lock? No worries -- simple workaround ideas are included that keep students focused!
