Ancient Egypt PBL for Google Classroom

These digital activities put your students in the shoes of a museum curator designing an authentic Ancient Egyptian museum experience! These online resources will give your students a deeper understanding of Ancient Egypt. They are 100% online and can be used on Google Classroom and Google Drive.

Ancient Egyptian Museum is a social studies project based learning activity (PBL) that results in a commercial to entice potential guests. Along the way, students will research, make real-life decisions, all while learning more about this ancient civilization, developing 21st-century skills, communicating, and designing.

This PBL is self-differentiating, meaning that students have the ability to work at their own pace and go as deep as they would like to with their learning.

♥ Hire Ancient Egyptian gods/goddesses to work as a museum guide

♥ Create a museum cafe menu using authentic Ancient Egyptian foods (comes with reading passage)

♥ Pick four Ancient Egyptian inventions to showcase in the invention exhibit

♥ Research the Nile River to showcase the benefits in the Nile River exhibit (comes with reading passage)

♥ Research the steps to mummification to explain to the museum guides (comes with reading passage)

♥ Design a map of the museum

♥ Calculate total daily and yearly upkeep for the museum

♥ Create a magazine advertisement to market the museum

♥ Create a commercial to convince potential guests to visit the museum (cumulative project)

If you are in a 1:1 technology classroom, this product is perfect for you! It will also work well if you only have a few computers in your classroom. As long as your students have a Google Drive account and access to a computer, they can use these products during literacy centers and rotate off computers.

How do I use this product?
