Description

Engage your students in learning about philosophy and ancient Greek philosophers such as Aristotle, Plato, and Socrates with these interactive Pear Deck slides! This lesson features engaging multimedia resources, including YouTube and EdPuzzle videos, to teach students the meaning of philosophy and the impact of these great thinkers on Western thought.

In addition to learning about the history of philosophy, students will also analyze quotes from these philosophers and evaluate their validity. These slides can be used in a whole group or self-paced mode, and include TWO options for defining philosophy: a YouTube video or EdPuzzle! This lesson includes mixed-level questions to guide instruction and help students practice important ELA skills such as using credible internet sources, identifying and applying domain-specific vocabulary, and composing clear written responses.
