Description

In this digital whiteboard file you will find four lessons (32 flipchart pages) examining "student work" for common mistakes. This can be used to help students learn to read word problems carefully, determine whether to add or subtract, ways to draw pictures to represent your thinking with word problems, and how to explain in words how you reached a solution. For each lesson, there are two sets of student work for your class to examine together and look for common mistakes. The lessons focus on adding 2 digit numbers, solving word problems, comparison numbers stories, and money word problems. Each lesson also includes a printable worksheet page for your students to show their own thinking. The first three work pages ask students to compare two students work and explain who is correct and why. The last work page asks students to solve a word problem and explain their answer. This can also be used a pre/post assessment to see where your students are. If you purchase, I would really appreciate your feedback! Created by Lindsay McNatt.
