Description

A few simple steps to teaching the classic short story "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge" by Ambrose Bierce in 2-3 days. Your students will remember this one as long as you follow the rules listed in the document. After teaching the story for a decade, I know what it takes to get the most out of the tale.

The download includes a 10-question ACT-ish 20-23 skills band quiz. It was adopted from a non-skills band quiz, so not every question is ACT practice, but it's still better than what the book has. You'll also get a comparison/clue sheet and a 14-question short answer worksheet. That's three activities and iron-clad instructions on how to breathe life into this story.

Links to the story and video are included, but you can search for them if links are broken. This download does not include the texts but they tend to be readily available online.

Homeschool or online classrooms: this is a perfect way to experience two classics (a short story and a film) with all the resources you need available online, plus try out a ACT-like 20-23 skills band reading quiz.

It's a win for everyone but poor Peyton Farquhar.
