America's Patriotic Music - Historical Timeline & Tidbits with Lyrics

I've been working on this Powerpoint for a long time! I am always trying to tie the history to the music. This contains a timeline of many of America's Patriotic songs along with a bit of history on each one and the most familiar lyrics sung.

Songs contained are:
Yankee Doodle
The Star-Spangled Banner
America
Dixie
The Battle Hymn of the Republic
America, the Beautiful
The Stars and Stripes Forever
Anchors Aweigh
Grand Old Flag
The Caisson Song and The Army Goes Rolling Along
The Marine's Hymn
God Bless America
Semper Paratus
The U.S. Air Force Song
God Bless The U.S.A.

These are all songs I sing with my students. There are others of course and with this PowerPoint, you can add or delete slides as you see fit. They are presented from 1776 - 1984 in order of creation. There is no audio with this presentation! There would be definite copyright infringement there.

I created this presentation in Keynote and they translated it into PowerPoint 2011. Compatibility is always tricky when downloaded from one version to another. Feel free to tweak any compatibility problems that arise upon download.

I used American Typewriter for the font. I am also uploading this presentation as a Keynote should you want to use that Mac program.
